    From the Niagara Falls Review:

The city’s new 5,000-seat theatre will be located next to the Hilton Hotel and be connected to Fallsview Casino by a new enclosed walkway.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. (OLG) officially announced the site late Thursday, despite work already being done on the property for weeks. The $130 million venue will be directly behind the Hilton, facing Stanley Avenue, and is expected to open in mid-2019.

Construction and maintenance is expected to create more than 800 direct jobs.

    Construction behind Hilton Fallsview?

A scaffolding walkway has been put together on Murray Hill at the back of the Hilton Fallsview. There is no indication yet of what kind of work will be done, but given the look of the walkway, I’d say it will be extensive, or take a long time to finish

Our family trip to Niagara Falls

    From News Day:

Last summer, two of my friends and I visited Niagara Falls for a couple of days. Our families each rented a room at the Hilton. After we checked into our rooms, we walked over to the falls and took some pictures and videos. We went to the gift shop there for a while and looked at some cool baked goods and T-shirts. Once we left, we went back to the main area to wait for the lights inside of the falls to come on. When the lights finally came on, we all got very excited and took more pictures.

Repairs high up the Hilton hotel

This afternoon I was walking by the Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Suites and I heard the sound of a saw. I looked around, and then up… way up. There was someone up on some scaffolding cutting something way up near the top. You can see concrete dust clouds near the scaffolding.

I’m generally not afraid of heights, but that is way up there!

You may have noticed an old house on Robinson St that appears to have a lot of spray paint graffiti on it. This is actually artwork. “Robinson House” is a public aerosol art installation located on Robinson Street at the corner of Fallsview Boulevard. It is a collaboration between the DoubleTree Fallsview Resort & Spa by Hilton Niagara Falls and local artists, in support of the arts in Niagara. DoubleTree is also home to the free public art gallery- Ochre Gallery, located on the lobby level. The small gallery is anchored by a nine foot totem pole carved in cedar. DoubleTree Niagara Falls is a full service 224 room hotel which caters to the travelling public looking for a four star experience at an affordable rate.”
