From the Niagara Falls Review:
Not even half way through what’s looking to be another successful season, officials with the Winter Festival of Lights are already looking forward to a bigger and brighter future.
With a 10 per cent increase in vehicle traffic and a 12 per cent spike in donations at Dufferin Islands through the first three weeks of the 2016 season, event organizers are planning to expand in 2017 — the festival’s 35th anniversary — and introduce augmented reality features in 2018.
“We want to have something bigger for our opening ceremony (in 2017),” said festival executive director Tina Myers…
Myers requested council approve $300,000 for each of the next two seasons to help the festival continue to grow.
