  1. Speaking of Ramada, I notice that there is finally work being done at the former Ramada on Lundy’s Lane. Anybody heard anything about what it will be? The Ramada signs were still up last time I went by, but I doubt that they will stay.

  2. Answering my own question. I just drove by today and it is open as the Ramada Coral (new signs), with a new restaurant ready to open soon. The suites portion isn’t open yet.

  3. Unrelated news but still development news!! An application to permit the development of a 9 storey, 160 room hotel and restaurant on Parcel 1 (6158-6170 Stanley Avenue), with a portion of the required parking provided off-site on Parcel 2 (6158 Allendale Avenue). This is where the Fallsview Inn stands now

  4. Another update on the Ramada. The whole place (formerly the Ramada Coral and the Ramada Suites) is now known as the Ramada Plaza. That was the name that the Minolta Tower hotel had until recently, so I wonder if the owners of the tower have taken over this one also.

  5. This new proposed hotel of 9 stories and 160 rooms sounded familiar to me so I looked back to when I was still posting pictures on my own blog. As it turns out, I had mentioned an article I found online on Market Wire in January, 2007. This was part of the article… Hyatt Place, one of Hyatt’s two new brands, gained impressive development traction in its debut year, garnering 31 new projects, totaling 4,321 hotel rooms. These new projects will join the 120 hotels converting to the Hyatt Place brand in 2007… “One destination will be in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada – Under development by Canadian Niagara Hotels, this 150-room hotel is located in the Stanley Avenue corridor and scheduled to open Summer 2008.” This is just speculation from me, but I always wondered what happened to that proposal?
