From the Niagara Falls Review:
The Canadian Motor Speedway proposal completed another lap toward the finish line Wednesday.
The regional planning committee supported an amendment application to its policy plan, allowing the multi-million-dollar project to move ahead through what could be an arduous approval process.
The endorsement, however, didn’t come with a blank cheque. It is subject to conditions, such as limiting the type and scale of ancillary uses on the subject land, further studies and local control over the future zoning bylaw.
The decision followed closely on the heels of Fort Erie council unanimously authorizing an amendment to its official plan Monday.
