I’m sure many of you get those junk mail booklets or envelopes that are filled with coupons for various local operations. The other day I received one of these, and for the first time there were coupons for a Niagara Falls attraction. Coincidentally, it was for Skylon Tower Fun Centre, a place I’ve covered quite a bit lately. The coupons are for 5 free tokens (they should be offering more than 5!) and a family fun pack.

Its a bit misleading because it says “Niagara’s largest amusement park” but in reality there are no actual amusement rides there.
Its a good deal though, sounds cheaper than the typical kids party places around here and they definitely have more to do (and a much larger variety of games) than say an average chuck e cheese or dave and busters on the American side of the border (Dave and busters in particular is very very expensive!). They seem to have an equally large amount of redemption games and arcade games while some places here focus only on redemption and have like, 2 other arcade games. While the smaller party arcades here seem to focus on only shooter and racing games they have all genre’s of arcade games at the Skylon including flight sims, dancing and music games, classic games, fighting games, shooters, racing games, pinball, various redemption games, photo booths, kiddie rides, simulators.. etc.. Unless you are really hard to please you will find a couple games you like at the Skylon.
Its also a huge place, not cramped or crowded with plenty of room for kids to run around without having to worry about constantly annoying parents or running into other kids all the time. If its crowded the noise level will dissipate because of the large space and high celing, and it won’t be so annoying for parents who don’t really like attending loud kids parties.
I used this coupon back in February to take my little cousins out for the day. They seemed to really enjoy it. $25 for a pizza, drinks, and 80 tokens (plus free parking) was a pretty good deal I thought.
I’d love to see Skylon fix up some of their games and put some more in to fill in the gaps. I also though they could lease out some of the space to Ripley’s for a mini-golf or other attraction. All this potential seems to be underutilized
hi everybody

well..we had our 4 days in the falls last week..it was cold..but great as always…anyhow..we found out that the masterhost/pilgrim/hilltop hotel on onedia drive is gone for good..in fact..we stood and watched as they threw everything out of the gutted rooms..over the balconies and into the dumpster on the street..apparently the restaurant (the pilgrim) was given 6 months..the jewellery store has 2 years left in their lease..it was bought by part of the hilton group..their initail idea is to put stores..eateries..etc all across and around the street level..and a museum of some sort (what kind of museum is left on the hill?..lol)..and teddy town is going back to being a candy store..it was very sad to see eveything go..we were lucky enuff to be given some momentos tho..well..we had a good 20 years staying there..well..they say change is a good thing..but sometimes it stinks..lol
Hey Sue,
Yeah I think it was the Marriott (Niagara 21st group) who bought it. The only thing I’ve heard that right now they fixing up some of the really bad parts of the building. I heard that a musuem would replace the hotel and that the exterior would be covered in billboards. But my source usually says one thing and then says something else, so this rumuor from me isn’t very strong.
Hopefully this eyesore complements what’s across the street!
I find the Skylon puts a bit more effort into the games during the busy season, I visited at the end of march and it seemed as if every game except for maybe 1-3 were working. I also played a good variety myself and didn’t have any problems. January is a dead month for them so they get hardly any customers, so is February. They may also use these less-busy months to fix things up for the busy season that are broken. I suggest visiting after March for the best experience.
25$ is a very good deal though, especially since it not only includes the tokens but food and drink as well. Over here you can easily spend around 10-12$ for just a meal for 2 in a mall including food and drinks. I will not even get into Dave and Busters pricing for food and arcade games. I would recommend this for anyone, I would do it myself but it would take me a very long time to go through 80 tokens alone! Its much better with a group of people or several children.
I noticed in the add even though print small it says free parking with coupon. That is surely an added bonus. Anyone know what the parking charges are going for at the Falls? Curious of what everyone in charging this year.
Good eyes there, I didn’t catch the free parking part. Parking could be anywhere from 5-10$, maybe a little more on the weekend.
I saw no parking lot attendants @ Skylon while there. Seemed like anyone could park for free.
Parking is free all over the place during the week right now. I would think this will be the case until the long weekends (Victoria Day in Canada and Memorial Day in US) then the prices will go up and be in effect during the week.
Thats what I usually experience at the skylon, however when I went last year in March we got charged for parking, the only thing I can think of is that it was spring break week when we went and they charge during that week because of increased customers in the area in general. This was on a weekday too. I went a few weeks ago and parking was free there (again on a weekday), at least in the back lot. It would be cool if someone could report the exact time when places start charging parking around the clifton hill area.
