Zappitelli, Niagara Helicopters big winners at Misty Awards

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Niagara Helicopters took home three pieces of hardware during the 40th annual Misty Awards, but it was Tony Zappitelli who scooped up the biggest prize of the night Thursday.

The director of operations for the Sheraton Fallsview hotel was recognized with the Grand Misty Award, presented to the person who has contributed the most to the tourism industry in a given year.

Hilton Progress (basement concrete progress)

That’s a lot of concrete!

Little Caesars plaza

The work that has been done at Little Caesars and the stores beside it to make them bigger is almost done. The new windows are in place and yesterday (after I took the picture) the sidewalk was finished. The storefront seems to be out 6-10 feet from where it was originally. There is still lots of cosmetic work to be done, but it’s getting there.

Midway Monster

I came across this picture today:

The photographer describes it this way:

Interesting how you can move about and make things appear differently than they are. My photography class took a trip to Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls and we took hundreds of very good images. I liked this one in which the King Kong statue at the Ripley exhibit seems to be climbing the Ferris wheel some distance away. Clifton Hill may be tacky but it’s a goldmine for photographers.
