Historic photos capture winter wonders of falls

From the Buffalo News:

Those who find the falls at their most majestic in winter are in for a treat.

Starting with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, about 35 spectacular frosty scenes of the famed cataracts and surrounding state park will be exhibited for the first time in the Niagara Falls Public Library, 1425 Main St. The exhibit will continue through March.

They are the work of photojournalist and editor Orrin E. Dunlap, a “stringer” for the New York Times as early as the 1880s who also wrote articles for other major publications, including Scientific American and the London Illustrated News.
