Floral Showhouse: Parkway’s hidden gem

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

A cold wind blows across the Niagara Parks Commission grounds near the old Toronto Powerhouse property. The flower beds have been culled for the season. A garden near the parking lot holds the remnants of hostas, lying limp and faded in the November air.

It looks and feels like winter.

But inside, the Niagara Parks Commission’s Floral Showhouse is awash with colour.

The temperature hovers at a balmy 21 C, and visitors quickly unbutton their coats as they pass through the doors…

The Floral Showhouse might be the busiest place in the Niagara Parks Commission, but the parking lot is nearly empty. It is, in many ways, a hidden gem – a place visitors stumble upon when they’re looking for something else.
