Actor and special United Nations Ambassador Danny Glover joined hotel workers in a “rally for workplace justice” along Falls Avenue Saturday afternoon.
The workers, all members of UNITE HERE local 2347, work in three hotels owned by Canadian Niagara Hotels – Sheraton on the Falls, Brock Plaza and the Skyline Inn.
UNITE HERE members in the three hotels have filed numerous grievances and unfair labour practice charges at the Ontario Labour Relations Board against Canadian Niagara Hotels, said Mike Belmore, union representative for Local 2347.
