Animals chillin’ at Marineland; Keeping marine life cool in summer heat a complicated task

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Trying to beat the heat has been a whale of a challenge this summer, but not for the folks who care for the menagerie of animals at Marineland.

As Marineland’s pod of belugas hail from the cool arctic waters along the Russian coast, they don’t care too much for the heat.

To keep the 1,500-kilogram animals as comfortable as possible, the park uses a water “chiller,” akin to a huge water cooler, which provides an optimal underwater environment.
