During the week they started to take down parts of the Golden Griddle / Quality Inn Clifton Hill front desk. Then near the end of the week they demolished the Golden Griddle entirely.

You can easily see over or through the fence they setup
You can see a bit of a broken Golden Griddle sign (it’s red)
You can’t read it in this picture, but the door still standing on the far side says Fire Exit Only. I think if you were still in the building, you’d have bigger problems than wondering where the fire exit was

So what is it that they are building in place of the hotel and Movieland? I live across the border in Youngstown and spent the night in Niagara on New Years Eve. I was suprised that they tore down Golden Griddle. I loved that restaurant. I always went to and go to in Tornoto across from Maple Leaf Gardens.
It is only the front of the hotel that is being torn down. There will be a common front desk/check in point at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill. The Golden Griddle and the Quality Inn Clifton Hill front desk are being replaced by a Ferris wheel.
Movieland moved down Clifton Hill early last year to where Circus World used to be. The old building is being replaced by a combined retail store and Tim Hortons.
Is the quality inn closed for good ? If so that sucks, the had the best indoor pool , definatly with rooms pool side that was great.
As I stated in a previous comment, it is only the front desk that is being torn down (only about 10 rooms).
