Park to become $2-million skating attraction

    From Niagara This Week:

The City of Niagara Falls is going to cash in on a partnership with Ripley’s Entertainment to not only add a first-class, $2 million off-season attraction, but to also convert an existing unused property into a beautiful new park.

City politicians approved a proposal from Ripley’s that would see the company buy the 4.5-acre Glenview Neighbourhood Park on Leader Lane and turn it into an outdoor ice skating facility with ice pathways winding through islands of trees with benches, an observation area, refreshment stand, washrooms and, during the holiday season, a Christmas tree that would rival the one found outside the Rockefeller Centre in New York City.
