No liquor licence this summer for Niagara Belle dinner cruises

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

John Kinney’s hopes for a liquor licence to get his dinner cruises underway on this side of the Niagara River have been dashed.

He was counting on complaints from residents being thrown out at a preheating held last week, but instead, an October date has been set for a hearing before a tribunal of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario for Niagara Sunset Cruises.

The goal of a preheating is to resolve issues through discussions between an applicant and those who are objecting to the granting of a licence, but that didn’t happen, said Queenston resident Marilyn Armstrong, who was at the informal meeting as one of the objectors.

Niagara Sunset Cruises will begin July 1

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

    Ask and you shall receive.

When his customers kept asking about the possibility of having dining cruises, Whirlpool Jet Boat owner and operator John Kinny saw the opportunity and decided to do something about it.

Starting July 1, Niagara Sunset Cruises will be offering dining and sight-seeing cruises in the lower Niagara River aboard the Niagara Belle.

Kinney said anyone who has had the opportunity to watch a Lake Ontario sunset from any of the shoreline advantage points in Niagara-on-the-Lake will know what he’s talking about. And, to enjoy that experience on the water would be ever better.
