    From the Niagara Falls Review:

Normally, Chris Dabrowski is consumed with comic books, science fiction and superheroes as manager of the annual Niagara Falls Comic Con.

But Dabrowski was wearing a different hat when he appeared before council to unveil plans being put forward by the city’s Canada 150 Celebration Committee, of which he is chair.

“It’s a big one. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to celebrate, for us to celebrate the past, the present and the future of Canada here in Niagara Falls,” Dabrowski said. “We want to make sure next year that we don’t just celebrate on July 1 but we celebrate throughout the whole year.”

Other communities have already announced plans on how they plan to celebrate the country’s sesquicentennial he said.

    “Now it’s our turn.”

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

In your face, gravity. The Upside Down House is now open.

It defies logic and might turn some stomachs, but the 1,200-square-foot house sitting on its roof near Clifton Hill has opened its doors.

Business partners Marek Cyran and Adam Nielbvowicz came up with the concept after seeing a similar tourist attraction in their native Poland.

Construction started in the winter and it took about six months to build the house, which is located on Oneida Lane just off of Clifton Hill.

It opened July 1 and Nielbvowicz said business has been steady.
