Last week I received the latest Clifton Hill Update email newsletter
Earlier this week I received the latest email newsletter from Falls Avenue.
A few weeks ago I received the latest email newsletter from Falls Avenue.
I just wanted to let you know of a few upcoming things on the blog
- A write-up (including pictures) about my trip to the Criminals Hall of Fame
- Screenshots from the Greg Frewin Christmas Special (yeah, I know, I’m way late on this one)
- A write-up (including pictures and an HD video) about my trip to Safari Niagara
- A contest to win 4 passes to Whirlpool Jet Boat Tour
Good stuff! Stay tuned…
So, a week ago I announced a contest in association with ETours.to. Visitors were to submit a reason why they loved Niagara Falls. The plan was for me to post the responses, and then choose a winner. Given the time of year, and the drop off in traffic in the off-season, I figured I’d get a half a dozen entries. Well, I only got one (two, if you could my sister tweeting a one-line answer). I wonder how many people thought about entering, and are kicking themselves for not sending something in 🙂
Anyway, the lone entry was provided by Colleen Cole. Here is her response:
I love Niagara Falls because of the water, not just the falls themselves, but the gorge, too is beautiful. Touring through the parks in the area is magical, especially during the fall when the leaves change colour or during the Winter Festival of Lights. I love the Butterfly Conservatory – where else can you go to see such beautiful butterflies? The horse drawn carriage rides, the cotton candy and the fudge are not to be missed. I would be remiss not to mention the dining. If you ever get an opportunity, the buffet at the Sheraton Fallsview is spectacular, both the food and the view – and it is extra special for my fiancé and I, as that is where we dined for the first time with my parents. The wineries, the cheese factories, the artisans and Afternoon Tea at one of the many boutique hotels in Niagara on the Lake also add to the attraction. Why do I love Niagara? For all of this, and more!
Colleen wins a Niagara Falls Tour from Toronto that includes pick-up and return from all locations in Toronto, winery visit with wine tasting, Niagara-on-the-Lake visit, Maid of the Mist (seasonal) or Journey Behind the Falls admission, and free time in Niagara Falls. Congratulations Collen!
In conjunction with ETours.to, I am running a contents during this week. They offer a Niagara Falls Tour from Toronto that includes pick-up and return from all locations in Toronto, winery visit with wine tasting, Niagara-on-the-Lake visit, Maid of the Mist (seasonal) or Journey Behind the Falls admission, and free time in Niagara Falls. You can see full details of the tour on the ETours.to web site.
So, what do you have to do to win this contest? I’d like you to submit a story to me on “Why I Love Niagara Falls” (the I isn’t me, it’s you). Why do you love Niagara Falls? Was there a special event that brought you here? How often have you come? Why do you keep coming back?
You have 1 week. I’ll remind you about it throughout this week, and by the end of next Monday, they need to be in. Then over the following few days I’ll post them on the site for others to read. Once they are all posted and I see some of the comments, I’ll announce a winner.
Now for the fine print…
- The tour picks you up in Toronto. If you can’t make it to Toronto to go on the tour, then please let me know that. I’m certainly happy to still accept your write-up as to why you love Niagara Falls.
- Please let me know whether or not I can post your name on the site. Let me know if I can share first, last, or both. Of course, the winner’s name and email address will be provided to eTours.to. No other information will be disclosed.
- In case you are wondering, I am not getting anything from this interaction with ETours.to. The offered the prize, so I’m running a contest.
That’s about it… get writing! You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
On Friday I received the latest newsletter from Safari Niagara (formerly Zooz). They had a baby lion born, and are running a contest to name it.
