From the Welland Tribune:
There was plenty to cheer about in Niagara Falls on the weekend – not only inside the Scotiabank Convention Centre during the Canadian National Cheer & Dance Championships – but across the city where restaurants and hotels were booked to capacity.
“We had over 86 athletes with our five teams and they all came along with parents, grandparents and other spectators who came to watch and most of them stayed overnight or a full weekend,” said Jasmine Tessier, a coach with Thunder Cheerleading from Mississauga.
“Niagara Falls is always lots of fun for the girls. Many of them hit Clifton Hill and some were going to the Butterfly Conservatory,” said Tessier. “Not only is it a good event, we like the way things are run and the kids really get the full experience because they have the theatre, the arena and the ballroom.”
