It appears to be a nasty divorce.
Maid of the Mist isn’t sailing into the Canadian sunset without a parting shot at the Niagara Parks Commission.
“We are disappointed by the failure of the Niagara Parks Commission in its statement to recognize our Maid of the Mist Steamboat Company and its great history,” spokesman Kevin Keenan said in an e-mail Wednesday evening.
The parks commission issued a press release Wednesday morning thanking the Glynn family for operating the service on the Canadian side for the last 41 years.
“This great history cannot be reduced to 41 years of ownership or by being referred to as simply privately held tour boats,” said Keenan.
