And now for one little bit of news that isn’t related to Nik Wallenda
From Niagara This Week:
The proposed Canadian Motor Speedway project has one less barrier to hurdle this week after a settlement was reached between one of the major groups opposed to the project and the speedway proponent.
Council voted unanimously after a closed session to authorize approval of the minutes of settlement between the appellant — the Citizens Coalition of Greater Fort Erie — the Town, and the Region.
“This is great,” said Mayor Doug Martin of the announcement, “very good news for the town of Fort Erie and a good positive sign that we’re moving forward with this project.”
“This should show that not only are we committed to the project, but that the developer is going do in a positive and respectful manner towards the community,” he added.
