From Inside Track Motorsport News:
On Tuesday, Sept. 8 in Ft. Erie (ON), a public meeting was held regarding the approval process for the proposed Canadian Motor Speedway project in the US/Canada border town.
Individuals made presentations both for and against the building of the facility. Those against were reportedly mostly concerned with sound and emission issues. Those for the building of CMS pointed to the economic benefits to the region. Sources close to the project say the meeting went very well and they believe the CMS is very close to final approval, most likely prior to the end of October.

During the meeting, a representative of four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champ Jeff Gordon read a statement written by the racer.

The new Canadian Motor Speedway web site is nice. It has information about the team they’ve put together, as well as a PDF showing what the plan is for the land. If it actually happens, it will be quite impressive.
