A 56-year-old city woman handed her purse to a man walking on the Rainbow Bridge Tuesday night and jumped to her presumed death a short time later, Niagara Falls police said today.
The woman, who was seen jumping from the bridge by the man and a U.S. Customs agent, would have turned 57 next week, according to identification contained in her purse, Falls, N.Y. police Capt. John DeMarco said.
