From Niagara Falls Review:

Investigators say a fire that damaged a vacant Niagara Falls hotel Wednesday was deliberately set.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and the Niagara Regional Police casino and arson units are looking into the blaze that gutted several rooms at the Red Carpet Inn and Suites Motel.

Const. Mike Adamczyk was on patrol around 9 p.m. when he heard an external fire alarm sounding from the Lorne Street motel.

Adamczyk was joined by Const. Kevin Hiscoe and the two officers found smoke and flames shooting from the windows of several rooms in the hotel.
