From the Toronto Star:
Tomorrow morning marks the official christening of Big Becky, a gigantic boring machine that will soon begin its two-year mission of drilling a 10.4 kilometre tunnel about 140 metres under the city of Niagara Falls.
The goal: tap more waterpower for generating electricity. It’s not quite a voyage to the centre of the earth, but the sheer size of the project makes this an historic undertaking in the province.
Stanley Avenue Observations:
Hey Graham,
I’ve noticed some things on Stanley Avenue and wonder if you know anything about it. Firstly, is all that blue steel parts laying in a lot anything. It’s behind the Niagara Tourism Office which used to hold slide parts for Fallsview waterpark. I never really get a good look but I wonder if it may be something for CNH.
Secondly did you notice fencing going up around another lot lately across the street? Do you know if anything significant is being built?
Dan
I’ve seen the parts you are referring to in that Canadian Niagara Hotels lot, but I don’t know what they are for. I can only assume it is for the waterpark.
I also have noticed the fencing you are referring to, but I don’t know what this is for either. I’ll keep an eye on it and post anything I can find out.
