There are several different highways and bridges that will bring you to Niagara Falls, but one of the most common is the Rainbow Bridge. This is the bridge right between Niagara Falls, ON and Niagara Falls, NY. No commercial vehicles are allowed on the bridge, so this usually makes crossing a little quicker than some of the other area bridges.
The other day I was out and walked under the bridge, and was quite pleased with the view from there. I also learned a few things. As the pictures in the Rainbow Bridge in Spring 2006 gallery shows out, there is a marker recognizing King George VI and Queen Elizabeth visiting the site in 1939. Although moved from their original location, there are also low relief stone carvings of things well-known in Ontario in the 1930s an 1940s.
Overall, they’ve done a nice job at making it an attractive part of the Niagara Falls landscape.
