When Global News used Niagara Falls as the backdrop for its 6 p.m. news program, it showed off to all of Ontario the changes that have taken place in the last 10 years.
“This isn’t your grandfather’s Niagara Falls,” Global anchorman Leslie Roberts said as he signed off.
Global aired its Monday show from Oakes Garden Theatre, as part of the network’s “News From The Neighbourhood” series.
The news program is normally based in Toronto, but they’re on the road broadcasting from different communities in southern Ontario. It’s in Oakville today.
The show gave the city important exposure across Ontario just as this year’s tourism season is about to take off, Mayor Ted Salci said.
