Niagara SkyWheel update

I was out for a walk at lunch, just after we had a hard, sudden downpour. As I walked down Clifton Hill they had the Niagara SkyWheel turning very quickly. I was quite surprised it could move that fast. I doubt that is the normal speed. They were obviously doing some testing as they started and stopped the wheel numerous times, reversed direction, and turned at different speeds. I even saw a couple of people in one of the gondolas with the door opened adjusting something on the legs.

They are also finishing up on the plaza area. I’ve already taken pictures of the Clifton Hill side, and they are now working on the greenery by the driveway:

As I said, it has just rained, so it was fairly dark out with lots of clouds, but I’ve taken a couple of shots of the wheel:

The skywheel looks so cool! We will have to do that when we visit next. $10 seemed kind of expensive for a 12-15 minute ride, but we will probably do it anyhow…probably at night. The view from up there at night should be wonderful! Boy - things have changed since our last trip up. I\\\’m starting to wonder if we will even recognize Clifton Hill when we return.
