From Niagara This Week:
A new major tourist attraction is set to open its doors in Niagara Falls, sparking hopes the city’s tourism industry will start to flourish outside of the traditional prime-time summer season.
Ripley Entertainment Inc., a Jim Pattison Group company, is host of tomorrow’s grand opening for its new 406-room Great Wolf Lodge Resort and indoor water park measuring over 100,000 square feet. It will be the first Great Wolf Lodge in Canada and is part of a $200-million development on 25 acres of land at Victoria Avenue and Niagara Parkway, across from Niagara Helicopters.
Niagara Falls Mayor Ted Salci said the opening of Great Wolf is a major event that will help boost the city’s reputation as a top-notch draw for families.
“It is really going to raise the calibre for what we have to offer in terms of family destinations,” he said Monday.
