Just as the Victoria Day (in Canada) / Memorial Day (in US) weekends are the (unofficial) start of summer, the Labour Day weekend is the unofficial end of summer. By the beginning of September, everyone is back in school, and during the week, business is dead. Most of the hotels have unbelievable rates for Sunday to Thursday stays, with higher rates on the weekend.
Many of the souvenir shops have sales as well to try to clear out inventory.
In a follow-up to my post from Thursday, I can confirm that Jay will not be doing the Fallsview Casino to Skylon Tower walk on Labour Day. The supports that were being used are being taken down.

Large concrete blocks used to be here
The support wires are hanging loose
To be honest, I don’t know if Jay every did it after his initial record-setting walk. Monday will be his last day walking from the Fallsview Casino to the Hilton hotel.
The water park that Canadian Niagara Hotels is building is coming along well. I’ll take some more pictures when I have a chance.
