I just noticed that I’ve had this post in draft mode for a month now and forgot to post it. Here are some pictures of the progress being made on the new waterpark. Note that the last two pictures are of the storage yard on Stanley Avenue.

Early this morning I received the latest newsletter for the Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview:

From the Zanesville Times Recorder:
Visitors to Niagara Falls, Canada, will find a wonderland of activities in every season.
Fall offers spectacular red, orange and yellows as the trees shimmer with color. Winter creates a snowy wonderland, soft, quiet and ablaze with the twinkling lights of The Winter Festival of Lights.
Tulips and daffodils fill the park in spring while summer fireworks create a kaleidoscope of color over the falls on Friday and Sunday nights.
“While the Falls is certainly our most visited natural attraction, the rest of Niagara is a rich, varied, and rewarding experience, too,” said Dino Fazio, general manager for the Winter Festival of Lights. “An excursion to Niagara Falls offers more than you could imagine. Niagara Falls has often been called

From the Seoul Times:
When I finally saw Niagara Falls, I felt, inevitably, let down. The falls were certainly impressive, but after looking at them in countless photos, calendars and tourist brochures, I was destined to be disappointed. I was soon to change my opinion. The falls really do deliver; given the hype and overdevelopment of the surrounding area, it just takes some effort to fully appreciate them.
From the Friday, October 14, 2005 St. Catharines Standard:
Notorious former football star O.J. Simpson has apparently been popping up around Niagara Falls.
The hall of famer spent Wednesday morning at Thundering Waters Golf Club. “He came with two other people and asked for a tee time and we tried not to make a big fuss about it,” said Frank Racioppo, vice-president of operations at the golf club.
“It’s not uncommon for guests to the region to break away and play some golf. He’s and avid golfer and we were pleased to see him. He had a lot of nice things to say about the golf course.”
Of all the area newsletters I subscribe to, the Clifton Hill Resorts newsletter is by far the best. It is lengthy, colourful, and provides some good content. It is, however, quite repetitive in what it includes. They sometimes seem to include the same specials every month, with a couple of dates changed. It makes you wonder what kind of a special it is…

The newsletter always has a trivia question, and usually has information on packages, a feature of the month, and special events. If you want subscribe, visit http://www.cliftonhill.com/niagara_falls_newsletter/
From the Orlando Sentinel:
On the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, you can, if you choose, do something fancy.
You can, for example, put on a slicker and ride past the falls on a double-decker Maid of the Mist boat. Or you can choose the Journey Behind the Falls and ride an elevator to view the falls from an observation deck.
You might even settle for merely glimpsing this natural wonder as you make your way through the nearby, carnivallike attractions area known as Clifton Hill.
But on your first visit to Niagara Falls, you really should keep things simple: Just start at one end of the thundering panorama, walk to the other end and then walk back.

From the Orlando Sentinel:
Ah, the thundering falls of Niagara!
Powerful. Majestic. Inspiring.
And yet, just yards away from all that natural beauty lies what some would refer to as an attractions area and others would call a tourist trap.
Whatever it is, it’s so off-the-charts cheesy that it makes the dizzying sprawl of Orlando’s I-Drive look as tidy as Walt Disney World, and Walt Disney World seem as classy as the Champs-Elysees.
It is known as Clifton Hill, but we will call it Cheesy Falls.
