A proposal for the highest hotel and observation tower yet in Niagara Falls’ bustling tourist district is receiving an enthusiastic response from Niagara regional councillors.

“It is a beautiful building,” said Bill Smeaton, a Niagara Falls regional councillor who chairs Niagara Region’s planning services committee, after Michael Kirkland, the architect whose Toronto-based firm is responsible for its design, displayed graphic renderings of what the 59-storey structure would look like in the north end of the district, near Rainbow Bridge.
