From ThemeParks.About.com:
The humble Ferris wheel, long an amusement park staple, is generating some new buzz with plans for mega-sized models. For example, the Great Canadian Midway, an entertainment district in the Clifton Hill section of Niagara Falls, will be getting a 175-foot Giant Wheel in 2006. But, you’re thinking, the season will be so short in the Great White North. Have no fear. The wheel will feature climate-controlled cars and will presumably offer toasty-warm rides even on sub-zero days. While they can mess with the minds of folks who have a fear of heights, Ferris wheels–even 175-foot wheels–aren’t considered thrill rides. The Clifton Hill Giant Wheel, should, however, offer spectacular views of Niagara Falls.
