Down south in Canada

The author of this article in the Chicago Tribune took a trip through Southern Ontario and one of the stops was in Niagara Falls:

Next to the falls, we found a mob scene, a mile of people lined up three or four deep to see the water fall. After crashing down, it hurled some water back at us in the form of heavy mist.

Juju and I retreated to the glass walls and quiet ambience of the Table Rock Restaurant. From there we could see the falls and dine expensively but only adequately. After that, we toured a part of Niagara Falls, the town, that most visitors see – a hodge-podge of carnival rides, haunted houses, casinos, souvenir shops and blatant bad taste.

“I can’t believe this,” Juju said. “Did you see that Ripley’s Believe It or Not building tipped over sideways?” I did see it, a fair representation of a skyscraper knocked on its side with people hanging precariously from broken windows, a macabre architectural joke.
