Daly leaving a legacy

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

It’s a legacy John Daly is leaving for his children.

The $17-million Thundering Waters Golf Club, which officially opens in September when it hosts a Canadian Professional Golf Tour event, is billed as a John Daly Signature Course. The former PGA and British Open champion helped design the 18-hole Niagara Falls facility, transforming a century-old railyard into a championship golf course.

He said he hopes it will be a course his children and grandchildren can someday play to remember the man known to friends as “The Lion.”

“It’s something that’s going to be here when I’m dead and gone,” Daly said Wednesday.

“There are three or four signature holes on the course that my kids, hopefully, can say, ‘Hey, my dad did this.'”

“It’s so cool that it will be provided for them.”

Thundering Waters is located south of Marineland Parkway at Stanley Avenue and is owned by Fallsview Golf Inc., a group of businessmen headed up by brothers Dragan and Nick Matovic.
