The Man on the Lam blog has a blog post called If You Build it, They Will Come which has an infographic that is “a look at the biggest proposed construction projects in Canada that never happened”. It has an Expedia logo at the top of the infographic. I’m not sure how accurate it is, but there is an item mentioning “Disney Niagara”
As far back as 1963 Walt Disney considered building a Disney attraction on the Niagara Falls site…
You can click through to the site to read the rest of the blurb.
From WIVB Channel 4 in Buffalo:
Walt Disney considered putting his second theme park in Niagara Falls.
The Niagara News reports that when Walt Disney was exploring locations for a second “Disneyland” after the success of his park in California, he considered Niagara Falls, Ontario.
From a PR Web press release:
The historic Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview will be celebrating its 80th birthday on July 1, 2009.
The Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview, previously named the Brock Plaza Hotel, has maintained its reputation as a hotel that is able to flawlessly combine its historic charm with modern amenities. As the first luxury hotel in Niagara Falls the Crowne Plaza hotel has had many famous visitors including Marilyn Monroe, Walt Disney, Queen Elizabeth, and Jackie Chan to name just a few.
It might seem like I’m late with this, but the date on the press release was July 2, 2009, a day after the birthday.
