Our family trip to Niagara Falls

From News Day:

Last summer, two of my friends and I visited Niagara Falls for a couple of days. Our families each rented a room at the Hilton. After we checked into our rooms, we walked over to the falls and took some pictures and videos. We went to the gift shop there for a while and looked at some cool baked goods and T-shirts. Once we left, we went back to the main area to wait for the lights inside of the falls to come on. When the lights finally came on, we all got very excited and took more pictures.

Back in June I posted about the new attraction that is going in where Brick City was located. As you may recall, that building was torn down and it is an empty lot right now. The lot is fenced off and there are signs up showing the name of the attraction and that it is opening soon. Well, here we are at the end of the summer, and nothing has been done yet.

I was surprised to see that they’ve even had leaflets available talking about the new attraction. I would assume it will be open for next year, but only time will tell.

Falls tourism set to flourish this summer

From the Niagara Falls Review:

All signs point to a perfect summer tourism season in Niagara Falls.

Redeveloped and new attractions, a favourable U.S. currency exchange and weather forecasts, and the first good indicator: One of the best Victoria Day long weekends in recent memory.

“I heard at least one person say that he felt he was 30 per cent up from last year on the holiday weekend,” said Niagara Falls Tourism chairman Wayne Thomson.

“That is unheard of. It was probably one of the best ones we’ve had.”
