    Maid of the Mist to launch for 129th consecutive season on May 10th

    Celebrities, world leaders and tourists from Canada and around the world will once again have a chance to ride the iconic Maid of the Mist when the boats are launched in Niagara Falls, N.Y., beginning Saturday, May 10, at 10 a.m. The Maid’s 2014 season marks the 129th consecutive year for one of North America’s longest running tourist attractions, and one that has long been considered a “must do” for Niagara Falls visitors from around the world.

    “For 129 years, the Maid of the Mist has been on the bucket-list of the world’s most famous, and not so famous visitors to Niagara Falls, and 2014 continues this genuine tradition,” said Christopher Glynn, president of the Maid of the Mist.

    All mothers will ride free on Mother’s Day, in honor of the 80th birthday of James Glynn, Chairman of the Maid of the Mist Corp. 2014 also marks James Glynn’s 64th consecutive season with the Maid of the Mist.

    Fallsview Casino launches augmented reality-enabled billboard

    Independent water quality experts release report on Marineland’s water systems

    The report dated April 13, 2013 states:
    The water management system at Marineland has been developed over many years. The water management system has been upgraded over time to provide comprehensive treatment to meet modern standards and performance requirements associated with best practices, and ongoing research and development in the industry. Overall, the investment in the water management system has been significant from a capital cost perspective.

    As I tweeted on Saturday, I came down on Saturday with my family to try and see some of the Red Bull Crashed Ice competition, but there were no events during the day. I also tried to watch it on RedBull.TV but at the time I checked they still weren’t showing anything.

    Great Wolf Lodge has been awarded the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC) Award for Excellence in Human Resources and was also a finalist for the Air Canada Business of the Year Award.

    The Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) hosted the annual 2012 Canadian Tourism Awards, presented by The Toronto Star and VISA Canada. The awards were presented at a gala dinner ceremony at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec on Tuesday November 20, 2012.

    The Canadian Tourism Awards are presented annually by TIAC to recognize success, leadership and innovation in Canada’s tourism industry.

    GO Transit will operate a special event train for passengers to experience a unique tight-rope walk across Niagara Falls. Nik Wallenda will attempt to cross the natural wonder on an 1,800-foot wire on the evening of Friday, June 15.

    GO will run a train from Union Station at 3:30 p.m. to arrive in Niagara Falls at 5:34; events around the Falls are due to begin in the early evening. Following the event, the return trip will leave Niagara Falls at 12:01 a.m. and arrive in Toronto at 2:04.

    Scotiabank Acquires Naming Rights to New Convention Centre in Niagara Falls

    Strong future secured for Casino Niagara

    The future for Casino Niagara was unveiled today, with the finalization of a long-term lease between the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and Canadian Niagara Hotels Inc. (CNHI).

    “The McGuinty government has delivered on its commitment to ensure that Ontario not only maintain two casinos in Niagara Falls but also enhance the exciting variety of gaming and entertainment options for Ontarians and visitors alike,” said Kim Craitor, MPP for Niagara Falls, who made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Dwight Duncan, Ontario’s Minister of Finance and the Minister responsible for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

    OLG and property owner Canadian Niagara Hotels Inc (CNHI) announced agreement on a 15-year lease extension for the current location, effective March 1, 2010. The extension provides long-term economic stability for local businesses, employees and communities in the region.
