From the Norwalk Reflector:
My wife, Jodie, and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary.
We were married Aug. 3, 1996 and honeymooned in early October of that year, taking an East Coast cruise that included stops in Rhode Island, Maine and Nova Scotia before returning to New York City.
So to celebrate our 20th, we decided to take another early October trip that would include water, beautiful scenery and the onset of fall foliage. We went to Niagara Falls.
Cycling is a solo venture, but there’s something to be said about riding alongside friends with some beautiful scenery in the background. The GranFondo, modeled after Europe’s mass-participation cycling events, aims to bring that experience to Canada, with the inaugural GranFondo Niagara Falls, sponsored by the Courtyard Niagara Falls.
This year’s race, on September 14th, follows the success of 2010’s ride in Whistler. Thousands of cyclists will gather at the start/finish line at the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, just minutes from this hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario, to set off on the 125-kilometre route.
From a PRWeb press release:
The Crowne Plaza Fallsview welcomed delegates from around the globe as the Leprosy Mission of Canada held their bi-annual conference in Niagara Falls in June. The International conference brings awareness to the disease which to this day continues to grip a portion of the world with a child diagnosed with the disease every 20 minutes, and 1,100 new cases being detected every day. The conference also gives delegates an opportunity to learn from each other, and share experiences.
Niagara Falls was selected to host the week-long event by the Canadian office of the mission thanks in part to beautiful scenery, proximity to international airports, and outstanding facilities offered at the hotel.
