Record feat on display for all to see

    From Niagara This Week:

John Scozzafava knew he had something special back in August of 2014 when he harvested a rather large zucchini from his backyard garden.

The folks at the Guinness Book of World Records thought so, too, and now Scozzafava has the documentation to prove his gardening prowess. The gargantuan vegetable measured 2.53 metres (8 feet, 3.3 inches) in length and smashed a record of 2.39 metres (seven feet, 10 inches) held by Gurdial Singh Kanwal of Brampton, Ont.

The certificate from Guinness and various news articles about Scozzafava’s feat are now on display at the Guinness World Records Museum on Clifton Hill for everyone to see.

    From the Toronto Sun:

One of the first beluga whales to call Marineland home has died.

Beyli died in August from what Marineland says was natural causes due to old age.

In a statement, Marineland said the whale was close to 40-years-old and “was in excellent health until his passing.”
