Chris gets a daily email from Ripley’s Believe It or Not! with an interesting fact. The one he got yesterday mentioned Niagara Falls:
The frozen waterfall of Mount Beardmore in the Antarctic has a height of more than ten thousand feet—sixty times that of Niagara Falls.
Mount Beardmore is essentially now a high glacier, but that sure is tall! Niagara Falls would look puny next to it.
On Tuesday I received the mid-June issue of the Clifton Hill Resorts Update newsletter. It contains its normal mix of hotel packages and attractions update. It also announces the opening of the Niagara SkyWheel and Galaxy Golf and links to the press release for the Niagara SkyWheel.
I always check out the trivia as well, and certainly knew the answer to this newsletter’s question:

Trivia Question: What famous movie was filmed in Niagara Falls and starred Marilyn Monroe? The answer is at the end of the Newsletter

I’ve posted several extensive write-ups about the movie:
As always, you can subscribe to the Clifton Hill Resorts Update newsletter by visiting the Clifton Hill Newsletter page.

My sister picked up the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire board goard at a local thift store. My wife and I were playing with my parents tonight and there was a $1000 question that was about Niagara Falls:

Between which two Great Lakes are the Niagara Falls?
A ) Huron and Erie
B ) Ontario and Michigan
C ) Superior and Michigan
D ) Erie and Ontario
Do you know the answer? This is an easy one. I wish I really did get $1000 for it! The answer is D) Erie and Ontario.
Niagara Falls was featured in today’s Ripley’s Believe it or Not!:

“Hyrdroelectric plants in the Welland River, near Niagara Falls, Ontario, cause the direction of the river to temporarily reverse during electric generation.”
As we posted recently, Canadian Niagara Hotels is planning a 229m hotel on their property. There is a discussion of this going on in the ScyscraperCity Forums.

I looked around the site a bit, and noticed they have all sorts of information on skyscrapers in major cities. There is a page for Niagara Falls, as well as a nice diagram page that shows all (or most) of the large buildings in the area.
