Twice in a lifetime? American Falls could go dry again

From the Niagara Falls Review:

The possibility of the American Falls going dry for the first time in 47 years isn’t a concern to the Niagara Parks Commission.

In fact, it may create a tourism boom.

“I think it would have a positive impact,” says Parks chairwoman Janice Thomson, reacting to reports the New York State parks system intends to divert water from the American Falls some time in the next two to three years to work on two aging pedestrian bridges. “It would be similar to the ‘Frozen Falls’ phenomenon, it gets people’s imagination (going). They would have to come and see it.”
