Yesterday Marineland welcomed the first regular surprise inspection by the new Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) zoo inspectors, as part of the new framework for monitoring of animal care developed with the Government of Ontario, the OSPCA and Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA-AZAC).
A three member zoo inspection team from the OSPCA were provided full access to all the animals cared for at Marineland and conducted a thorough and professional inspection.
Marineland is pleased to report that no issues of concern were identified and the inspection was successful. All of our animals are well taken care of and healthy.
