Council defers talk on new casino cash until OLG agreement signed

From the Niagara Falls Review:

The city’s wish list for its new casino cash windfall will have to wait.

Council deferred discussions on what to do with hefty new funds expected this year from Ontario Lottery & Gaming until the new funding agreement is officially signed. The OLG has given the city a Sept. 30 deadline to enter into a new agreement which will see Niagara Falls receive an estimated $18 to $20 million for hosting two casinos.

The new funding formula replaces the guaranteed $3 million the city receives per year.

Council will wait until its September or October meeting to start discussing the funds.
