From Niagara This Week:
Five more weeks.
That’s how long it will take to wrap up the results of an archeological survey which resulted in the discovery of pre-contact Aboriginal artifacts at the site of the proposed Canadian Motor Speedway.
The archeological survey, first reported by Niagara this Week on July 3, is nearing completion according to an update posted to the CMS website, and “major earthworks” are expected to begin in mid-August.
The work will include the realignment of Miller’s Creek, as approved by the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, before any construction towards the actual speedway can begin.
