Making memories on Family Day in Niagara Falls

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Niagara – It’s not so much what you do on Family Day, it’s more about having fun and spending time with all those who are so important in your life.

Mario DeVellis was planning to spend the day at home just relaxing, but his son, grandson and son-in-law had a better idea. They convinced him to go along while they enjoyed some free family skating at the Gale Centre.

“Winter is very long so it’s really nice to have this Family Day,” said DeVellis. “It gives people a bit of a holiday, especially people who like winter sports like skating, skiing and snowboarding. I think it’s wonderful and I’m all for it. I hope that everybody enjoyed their long weekend.”

Family Day is the third Monday of February. It’s observed as a public (or statutory) holiday in the three Canadian provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.
