After filing for bankruptcy four years ago, is Cirque Niagara about to make a comeback?
Mayor Jim Diodati doesn’t rule it out. In recent weeks he has scouted possible locations with a group trying to bring the Russian circus back to town after two acclaimed but poorly-attended seasons in 2006 and 2007.
“It’s way too preliminary to say, but we’ve met with the investors and they’re very anxious,” says Diodati. “The difference this time is, they’re looking (at a) long-term investment.”
