On Saturday I received the latest email newsletter from the Fallsview Casino Resort. It’s the “Entertainment Insider”.

Wow!! Talk about slim pickins. The entertainment at Fallsview has been pretty poor for the last year or so, I’ve only wanted to go to a couple of things. On the other hand, I’ve attended over a dozen concerts/shows at Brock Centre for the Arts in the last 12 months. Go figure.

I agree Drafty. I’ve never even heard of these people.

  3. StEC says:

Hopefully the convention center brings in much better entertainment!

Things must not be good. That’s an AWFUL lineup.

  5. helen says:

It seems like a line-up for The Love Boat.

  6. Lonny says:

Honestly, with only a 1000 seat theater incorporated into the new Convention Center, I don’t think the level of entertainment will be going up. Also, any correspondence that I have had with the people involved with this project have given me the impression that this will not be set up with any larger entertainment shows in mind. I really don’t think this place will have a huge impact on the tourism industry, with the largest space only being 80,000 sq ft of open space. High impact Convention Centers usually have anywhere from 200,000 to 900,000 sq ft of open space exhibition space for large Conventions.

  7. Drafty says:

But the only cities that have larger convention centers are Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. This place will be bigger than facilities in Hamilton, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, Quebec City. It’s certainly not on the same scale as places in most American cities, but should hold it’s own in Canada. Let’s just say that it can’t hurt.
