Niagara: Miracles, Myths and Magic – The DVD

Back in September I visited the IMAX Niagara Falls Theatre and wrote several postings about the theatre, the movie, the daredevil exhibit. I also posted a copy of their promotional leaflet. At that time, I borrowed a copy of the DVD of the movie, and I finally got around to watching it closely and have taken some notes and screenshots to post.

Whether seen on the IMAX-sized screen at the theatre, or in your home, the movie is still very impressive. I only have a 27″ TV with the sound coming out of a simple 2-speaker stero. Both the audio and visual of the DVD were impressive.

The movie has a few trailers for other Destination Cinema movies (Grand Canyon The Hidden Secrets, Hidden Hawaii, Hearst Castle – Building the Dream, Whales – An Unforgettable Journey, Yellowstone), a 20-minute long The Making Of special, and the movie itself. The whole thing is about an hour long (the movie is 40 minutes, the making of special is 20 minutes)

The DVD has 6 language tracks for the movie

As can be expected from a movie like this, the shots of the falls are incredible. I started to take some screenshots, but there were just too many to put in a blog posting, so I have created a gallery in the Niagara Falls Image Gallery.

The movie is fantastic, whether in the IMAX theatre or at home. Pictures and reviews don’t do it justice. If you are fascinated by Niagara Falls and its history, then you should definitely see the movie.
