As you go through the museum, you see artwork on the walls. It is all for sale. Some are on consignment and have prices right on them, others don’t. You can ask about any of them and get more information.

Also, all the motorcycles are for sale. There are no prices on the bikes and no indication that they are for sale, but if you see one you like and you have the money, you could buy one. There are a few bikes that are just too hard to replace or too valuable to sell, but other than that, the right offer could get you a classic motorcycle. Once a motorcycle sells, Domenic and his partners will go out and get another one.

After opening for business on May 16, 2005, they are still working on “a thousand little things,” but business is going well. On the weekends, they are experiencing about the same level of business as Alien Encounter used to do on the weekends, but during the week they are doing better.

Here are a few other notes:

    • Domenic used to ride his neighbours dirt bikes when he was a kid and developed a passion for bikes. He currently rides a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy.
    • All bikes are in working order. Ed personally restored his bikes and the other bikes owned by the museum have been restored by others. They just need to be careful with making sure the engines have good oil in them, so they would need 24 hours to get it going, but they are all in working order.
    • They encourage picture taking. The museum is well lit and has signs by each of the motorcycles to tell you about it.
    • There is a nice retail store as you leave with licensed merchandise and their own branded clothing.
    • There are very few motorcycle museums. In Ontario there is only the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Museum, and in Canada there are only a couple more.

I am not interested in motorcycles at all, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Classic Iron Motorcycle Museum. I think the museum will appeal to all age groups. But if you are interested in motorcycles, it is definitely a place you need to go.
