The Maid of the Mist has a plaza and ticket booths at the edge of the gorge and then you get on the boats down below and river level. This Spring they have been building 4 new small buildings (gazebos, kiosks, booths, I’m not sure what to call them).
I’m not sure what property the Maid of the Mist owns. I don’t know if they actually own the property that they operate on (they have been in business for over 100 years) or if the Niagara Parks Commission owns that land but Maid of the Mist has a sweet lease. The construction of these small buildings is superficial when it comes to any last changes to the land. There has been nothing drilled down any significant distance that might affect the stability of the rock.
