Believe it or not, Hudak skips potentially embarrassing Niagara Falls attraction

From the Canadian Press (via Yahoo! News):

Campaign officials work hard to keep their leader in the best possible light and out of potentially embarrassing situations.

So it seemed too good to be true Saturday when Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak’s schedule indicated he would visit the Ripley’s Believe It or Not attraction in Niagara Falls, Ont.,

Journalists were salivating at all the jokes that could be made, to say nothing of what the Liberals and the NDP hoped would come out of the photo-op.

Perhaps someone at Tory headquarters realized the fun critics could have with a photo of Hudak underneath the words “believe it or not,” because the event was cancelled at the last minute.

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

The $395,000 expenses claimed by recently departed Niagara Parks Commission executive Joel Noden are expected to come up during Question Period at Queen’s Park this morning, staff in NDP Leader Andrea Horwath said.

The Globe and Mail reported Noden, formerly the revenue, marketing and business development manager, racked up close to $400,000 in expenses between 2006 and 2009. The paper used access to information legislation to get his credit card records.
