    From the Niagara Falls Review:

It’s not going to be your typical Canada Day in Niagara Falls.

In fact, it’s going to be a three-day celebration.

“People are expecting a bigger and better celebration,” said Lori Albanese, community development co-ordinator for the City of Niagara Falls.

“It’s going to be a lot more fun. We’re getting a lot of people calling from out of town, asking what’s going on? Where can we get a hotel room? They’re looking forward to coming to Niagara Falls and enjoying our celebration.”

    How should Falls celebrate Canada’s 150th b-day?

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

It’s still 11 months until Canada’s 150th birthday, but Niagara Falls officials are not wasting any time when it comes to preparing for next year’s grand celebration.

A survey is up on the city’s website (www.niagarafalls.ca/) asking the public to help them plan for the big bash in 2017. The survey is expected to remain on the website until Aug. 26.

Lori Albanese, the city’s community development co-ordinator, said once a Canada Day event concludes, officials immediately begin planning for the next one, trying to secure sponsorships, entertainment and volunteers.

And with the next Canada Day being the country’s sesquicentennial, Albanese said her committee wants the public to have even a bigger say on how the city’s celebration will unfold.
